GrandSport Kart Challenge Chatter
Thanks again to all racers, race crews, race crew and family that attended the January 6th Kart race held at GrandSport Speedway.
With the improved procedures the race went off without any delays. Line ups or the like. We were done racing at 4:10 PM! As I was in attendance and watching the proceedings I am going to suggest that the awards ceremnony become a little bit more formal. We will wait until all the winners and whoever else is interested in seeing the awards are available and then present so the winner can get their moment of fame and recognition the proper way.
Now that we have the logistics figured out we plan to start to add some other cool activities to the Kart racing days for the families and racing enthusiasts. This might include but not be limited to testing new Karts from various dealers, rides for kids and family members in the Racing Adventures race cars, track drive arounds so the crews and family can see where the competitors are driving etc. Lets make this more fun for everyone involved!
As mentioned at the drivers meeting GrandSport is committed to growing kart racing in the south Texas area and not about to stop trying to improve the sport in the area.
A new karting school and endurance series along with sponsors and prizes will be announced very soon. New track configurations and lighting will follow along with an on site Kart shop(PitStop), a special kart membership with weekly day and evening practice times. At this months New car show at the Reliant Center starting January 25th a large promotion for Karts will be featured in the Racing Adventures booth. Stop by and see us!
The improvements for this last event will include but was not limited to:
*Opening the gate earlier at 7:00 am to ensure all the vehicles get off the highway and into the facility.
*General waivers and wristbands were sold to everyone at the gate to allow crews to get in and set up. The drivers then went to registration inside our classroom building out of the weather and could even sit and wait instead of stand in line!
We hope to have out new bathrooms functioning for the next event!
If you would like to contact GrandSport with your comments the new email address is Karting@GrandSportspeedway.com
